(TL;DR- she announced she wouldn’t seek the death penalty in any cases before her office and the governor reassigned a bunch of homicide cases to a different office where the state attorney is pro death penalty. This is now turning into a court battle over whether or not he can do this to circumvent her professional judgment and discretion.)
