Right?!

This is pissing me off so much, because “equally poor understanding of head injury”. I have lost people to both head injury and mental decline, please come discuss understanding of head injuries and the brain with me.

Since when was there one form of head injury? As Rosanna said, this isn’t a concussion. Our understanding of Delia’s condition is based only on what you have given us.

So what do we know?

  • She has these spells – seizures, the doctors call them – on account of the knock to her head.
  • Will her memory come back? / No-one will make us any promises. So we’re having to settle for hope.
  • She’ll need looking after all the hours God sends. For a while, at least. And we still don’t know if the seizures will be permanent.

We know she hasn’t had short term retention either as she failed to recognise her mother when she returned.

Tell me Heidi, what about this should be comforting to me as a queer person used to seeing characters I love die or just disappear? To use Mr McGann’s terminology, I feel you’re rather on your high horse here.

To the first point which frustrated me only slightly less, as it was a less personal issue.

And a poor opinion of love? Do you watch television? Are you aware that, no matter your plans for the next series, we are used to this trope. We are used to the ‘tragic lesbians’ story, we’re used to them dying in car crashes. Hell, only as Call The Midwife started this series, we lost another female gay/bi character to a bloody traffic accident. Yes, I have a very poor opinion of how the media portrays love. Portrays people like my friends and family as tragic figures every single bloody time.

I get why you’re being defensive, I have no doubt that some people have been frankly unpleasant about this and while I understand their anger I don’t condone sending non-constructive hate out. But this is an arsey response to the situation.

Grow up.
