My litany whenever I see Yumi is always: she is too good for Shishio. She is beyond too good for him. She’s awesome and smart and loyal and she’s had a truly miserable life and deserves love instead of emotional abuse that convinces her she’s worth nothing and deserves no better than to be a diversion in Shishio’s stupid fight. There’s pond scum that would make a better boyfriend than Shishio.
Ugh, yes. Yumi was so great and instead of getting anywhere near the happiness she deserves, she got that negative sum of humanity, Shishio. I kind of wished she wasn’t in the movie because I know the ending that’s coming, but I’m also hoping against hope they’ll change it?
