I just finished Killjoys and I have a huge question/plot hole that’s really bothering me if Aneela took Dutch from the green, how come Dutch is only human and not hullen or something?

Huh, that’s a good question. I just assumed scifi magic, they make the rules, so they do what they want, but it’d have made more sense if she were Hullen too. What a twist that’d have been, if they realized, before they met Aneela, that Dutch is Hullen too. But obviously that’d have never worked for the plot, plus, they’d want to separate her and Aneela and Aneela’s already Hullen.

I guess they just say that since Dutch (and in fact Khlyen in season 5) are memory made form, they’re whatever they were in the original, exactly, like atom by atom copies of what they were. It wouldn’t make sense that just their blood and brain would have the Hullen modifications, since that’s actually a separate infection of sorts.

I was about to start watching vagrant queen but the comment about the violence put me off. I thought it would be a fun adventure show like killjoys, but I take it it’s not the case?

Oh, it is, it’s campy and goofy, more so than KJ maybe, and I guess that’s how I take the violence, but the other anon’s not wrong, every once in a while you’ll see people being tortured or hurting themselves and it’s just…there, not even that cartoonish, though it’s treated like it is, and then we just move on from that back to the jokes. It’s not particularly to my sense of humor, but it’s also not a dealbreaker for me.

I’m finally catching up on vagrant queen and like, as much as I love a lot of the things it’s at least trying to be, the frequent graphic and gory violence is *really* excessive tbh

now that I’m thinking about it, I wonder if the uptick in graphic violence in vagrant queen is related to it getting moved to a later time slot (whether it’s the *reason* for the move, or they just were now able to put it in after the move)

Heh, I laughed at the 9 hours between these.

I think the whole season was shot at once, like, for sure there wasn’t any shooting after the announcement and most likely not much editing either. But maybe, the last few eps have been pretty violent, but weren’t they always, from the start? It was actually a thing I was beginning to dislike, how many side characters were being killed, often graphically, like, how can you get attached to characters when they’re always dying, but I think they’re using the same actors again? I did like that, but that implies there’s gonna be a lot of death as they keep cycling them.

Anyway, I do get your point but I guess I just tune it out to the point of not noticing it now.

i really want javier and raúl to have some kind of hookup or sexual tension damn now that would be good ( and I deadass thought javier’s dad was going to kiss him on the lips when they were walking away the football pitch- that would have been creepy af but i’m all for it

Ah, well, I honestly couldn’t tell them apart at first and I hate Raul so, but you live your dreams, anon.

And another anon (or the same?):

do you like white boys? how is it to be a pakistani-american in the us?

Not especially. And it’s fine, I guess? I’d say I’m pretty lucky and have class privilege that shields me from a lot.
