They’re just breaking ALL the rules of TV here?? There is no show I’ve ever watched where things are so direct, let alone telenovelas.
Oh no what’d you hear about the execution of ek ladki?
That it focuses way too much on the men and the f/f plot is sidelined.
I really wanted to hate Eva… I really do. But AUGH! her eyes… they’re so mesmerizing.. I could get lost in them. F**k she’s gergeous!
I know, I have another ask I’m going to answer with gifs but yeah. I feel like a hypocrite because she’s such a jerk. But such a hot jerk. I’m supposed to just ignore that? The hotness?
Actually, if they wanted us to hate her, they wouldn’t have made her so hot, would they? I rest my case.
Am i the only one who feels uneasy that the stories r already slowly tying together? LIKE SHIT ITS GONNA END SOON YOU KNOW?? AND YOU GUYS W YOUR SPECULATIONS AND COUNT DOWNS ARENT HELPING IM–
I get it, same! Basically a month left now. I think everyone does get that on some level, though, it’s because time’s running out that they would prefer more of that happen with them together than not.
ok as someone who just watches the juliantina scenes with English subs: this show is so much more complicated than I thought what the hell, why does everyone keep saying jacobo/leon
Oh, anon.
Okay, so the show starts with Leon Carvajal, the older gray-haired rich guy, Val’s father, being assassinated at his wedding to Lucia, Val’s stepmom, the pretty blonde lady. At the same time, El Chino, Juliana’s dad, a hitman with dealings with a cartel, is executed. And a third guy, a professor, that tall mustachioed guy, Beltran, is killed in a car accident.
Leon’s body totally dies but his spirit goes into El Chino’s body. This entity now, El Chino’s body holding Leon’s spirit, calls itself Jacobo and goes and gets a job at the Carvajal house and keeps an eye on everything there. That’s why all those moments between Jacobo and Val are so significant. It’s also why he’s trying to avoid Juls, since she knows that body as her deadbeat hitman dad.
El Chino’s spirit goes into the professor Beltran’s. That’s why he saved Lupe in the hospital and paid her bill and he had those weird reactions to seeing Juls at the hospital.
Beltran’s spirit passed on, apparently he didn’t need to be redeemed. The point of these people coming back is to use this as a second chance. They have a butterfly tattoo on the back of their necks that starts to bleed when they go back to their shitty old ways.
There’s obviously a lot more to it, but it’s imperative to know that the show centers on Leon (and Lucia, Val’s stepmom) and El Chino. So their daughters…Leon and El Chino’s, they connect everything.
well… there was gunfire around them and neither got shot so i guess we can celebrate that? lol I think that if Juliana does leave, they’ll try to postpone it as much as possible and she’ll probably be back a few eps before the finale. Either way they’ll try to push the drama to the max and drag it for as much as they can lmao
Lol, considering our theories and conjecture, yeah, this wasn’t that bad. I don’t want to dare the show to defy my expectations like it already has but I never really believed they’d leave. How could they, with their parts in the plot? But them getting together, well, that’s harder to guess.
And another anon:
Maybe the time jump will be after they reunite and we might see more of some small domestic conflicts between them kinda like Guille and Renata instead. I feel like that makes sense if Juls is supposedly going to have a boutique opening and Val is there idk I feel like it’d be kind of a waste if they reunite them so late…but maybe I’m just selfish when it comes to Juliantina
And another anon:
Telenovelas tend to use the time jumps at very end to show the happy endings and stuff, not in the middle of the drama so they’ll probably reunite before the finale
Yeah, that makes more sense to me. But who knows, I guess.
And another anon:
from the preview it looks like juls might be going to see jacobo to ask about the whole not-el-chino business. now that it looks like Lupe will tell her. and with panchito going full love confession idk they might Stay. Ajdjdksk at this point I’m just reaching but yeah time skip makes no sense to me rn
I mean, a time skip in the middle seems impossible not just because of the plot but because of the very premise. The body jumpers need to either redeem themselves and the tattoos disappear or they’ll be bad and the bodies will be destroyed for real. There’s no real way they can just coast.
And another anon:
in the clips of tomorrow’s ep we can see Juls is gonna confront Jacobo and she says she will call the cops on him, and also Lucia is gonna tell Val about Jacobo/Juls/Lupe. That can lead to so much trouble especially if Val believes that is all set up and Juls was in it with Jacobo to trick her and her family. TELENOVELAAA
Oh lordy. God. Whose idea was it to get into this show, anyway?
Did jacobo got caught by the police? I can’t wait until juls and val found out he’s their dad lmao
No, at least not right now, he’s being treated as the savior of the situation.
Yeah, that’s gonna be one heckova reveal.
And another anon:
as long as our girls didnt get hurt i can laugh about this. val really answered a video call in the middle of a hostage situation and juls really ran her ass across a shootout in a noticeable red shirt and no vest on lmaoooo why are they like this?
They’re such besotted fools. 🙂 Lol, yeah, we headed into these last few days fearing all kinds of things and in the end they didn’t see each other and that was the biggest drama.
And another anon:
After this episode, I’m fairly sure Juliana and Valentina won’t see each other for a bit. I think now more than ever Juliana’s going to want to leave because she won’t want to cause Valentina more trouble through her association with Jacobo. And now she doesn’t even have a way to get in touch with Valentina, so I think she’ll just leave and probably tell Sergio. But I also think it’ll make their reunion so much sweeter!
Unfortunately, that sounds too likely. It looks like the Chino = Jacobo revelations are going to out and mess things up even more than they already out.
If anyone’s curious, maca’s brother santiago was on another televisa show where he very much used his argentinian accent. if the non-spanish speakers wanna compare or something lmao he played claudio in like la leyenda
Ah, yes. The brother who caused someone to send me, and I quote: ”the Achagas are an attractive ass family ?”
I guess it’s kind of like when Aussies and Britons come to the US and play Americans (or pretend to for five minutes, Archie Panjabi) and you can hear different accents at times.
Nobody is posting clips with English subs and I’m dyinggggggg
I know this is from last night but you have to give them time! I looked at natppy1’s clip of them and it came in at 18 minutes! The blessing and curse of being part of more central plots. They’re so much more rewarding, but man, they can be intense and well, long.
Maca is Argentinian. However, she’s been working in Mexico for about 8-9 years now and undergone speech classes to neutralize her accent. She speaks almost Mexican at this point, her true accent can only be spotted every now and then. Even on interviews or when she’s talking as Maca, she no longer uses Argentinian grammar which is slightly different from grammar in Mexico.
Oh, okay, that’s cool to know.
And other helpful people chimed in too:
@myrmeen said: Not everyone is physically capable of rolling Rs. Not even in countries with languages that use them.
Yeah, you’d kind of figure that’d have to be true.
@erinkomgaykru said: My mom was born and raised in Chile and despite being fluent in Spanish does not have the physical ability to roll her Rs, it’s a whole thing that my abuela teases her about
Lol, families are like that.
@youngstar-gazer said: I wonder though, why Maca’s accent doesn’t sound Argentinian either on her normal speaking voice
I guess she’s lost it, from what anon says.
@piecebypeace said: Based on what I’ve read, Maca had to change her accent for a previous role which took place/shot in Mexico. And it likely just stuck. So she doesn’t sound Argentinian, but her accent is definitely “Mexican-ified”. Lol Also, it’s true that not all Spanish speakers or dialects roll their r’s. But I think it’s safe to say most do. Usually, it should only be rolled on double r’s (-rr). There are some exceptions. And then there are some people who roll every -r. Anyway, Maca does roll hers
Got it! I hope you see this, original anon, lol.
