I know you’re just going by the official translation but the swerve translation doesn’t make sense. If you translate that to filipino it’s “lumiko” and jade uses the word “nabaluktot”. The official subs sometimes make my head hurt. Don’t mine me. 😛

I’ve just accepted that the official subs will either be too literal or will just jump to a different word/meaning entirely, but I’m going to assume there’s some…intention, when they change things? And the getting bent part wasn’t exaaactly what I would have chosen for the gifset. 😛

Have the girls from TRMD even kissed on-screen yet?

No. It’s my understanding that because of the Filipino TV censorship board, they will never kiss onscreen, despite the cast and crew’s willingness. There might be a deleted scene on the DVDs once those come out.

I’m ASSUMING they’ve kissed off screen, or that all the forehead touching is a proxy, but a part of me actually thrills at the idea that the interrupted moment at the hospital would have been the first. Slow burn in at least this, if nothing else.

Other nice thing about the SAS appearance is that rhian is wearing a traditinal filipino dress that symbolizes modesty and submissiveness and invented under the patriarchal rule of the spanish. The fact that they let two women holding hands walk out like that on the show and basically letting them end that whole segment is strangely subversive to the whole notion of patriarchy.

Ah, wow, I had no idea of the significance of the dress. That IS pretty cool, in addition to everything awesome about it.
