Didn’t even catch that it was Tony Hawk! How funny! The finale was my favorite episodes of a show in a while, they wrapped stuff up while leaving room for another season. It was perfect. That scene of them just talking and joking around, especially Indigo and Janae teasing Camille about her crush was hilarious. And of course Honeybear’s video!! The sweetest thing ever. I love that we have black girls just chilling and living normal, it’s such a nice show, especially right now.

Lol, yeah, I was like, what’s the significance of this guy, is that–is that?? And then had to look up what he looks like now and make sure it was him. Such a cute cameo to have.

It was a super fun ep! Just really easy and fun watching, even while finishing off those storylines, some which could have been so grim. The way they wrote that guy, Janay’s ex, so manipulative and nice guy-y, they did so well!

And I LOVED that scene where they were just chilling, I almost wondered if it was half improv and just the actresses chilling and having fun. The way Indigo knocked off Camille, lol, even though that was in the trailer, I cracked up again, it was just so natural.

Honeybear’s video was adorable! And Ash reacting to it, dawww. It was all so nicely balanced, weaving in and out between everyone’s storylines and showing different dynamics (and I love that Yvette returned and was part of the group) and then doing the big final skate, which Kirt hilariously had to miss because of the dooring, lol. And I was thinking that too, that it’s nice to see so many black girls included, since they often are excluded in this kind of thing if it’s not About Black Women, even when stuff’s set in NYC and like, they should definitely be there, and obviously, given the times, it was a great hopeful relaxing ending.

I hope they get a second season but I don’t envy people trying to write shows post-2020. Like, how do you include and address…everything. Hopefully we enter a fundamentally different country–a different world in 2021.

Season 1 & 2 vs. Season 3

Season 1 & 2 vs. Season 3

Ugh! My heart broke with Vagrant Queen tonight. Amae’s face when she was forced to do that to Elida. I felt her pain.

Oof, yeah, I knew as soon as Amae came to Elida what was gonna happen, but I thought it was just leading her to a trap, which would have been awful enough, not stabbing her! It was horrible to watch but Elida was so forgiving, it was so nice to see. I mean, it’s not Amae’s fault and she obviously didn’t deserve Elida being mad at her, but sometimes that’s harder for your heart to accept than your mind, but Elida is just constantly hurt by people and then forgiving them.

I just finished Killjoys and I have a huge question/plot hole that’s really bothering me if Aneela took Dutch from the green, how come Dutch is only human and not hullen or something?

Huh, that’s a good question. I just assumed scifi magic, they make the rules, so they do what they want, but it’d have made more sense if she were Hullen too. What a twist that’d have been, if they realized, before they met Aneela, that Dutch is Hullen too. But obviously that’d have never worked for the plot, plus, they’d want to separate her and Aneela and Aneela’s already Hullen.

I guess they just say that since Dutch (and in fact Khlyen in season 5) are memory made form, they’re whatever they were in the original, exactly, like atom by atom copies of what they were. It wouldn’t make sense that just their blood and brain would have the Hullen modifications, since that’s actually a separate infection of sorts.

Is there more to that couple in Snowpiercer? Also is the show worth watching?

We’re just in the third ep and that was their first scene, although there is a super brief scene in the first ep where someone talks to Jinju about she really seems to be into someone new. I actually totally forgot but we did get another scene of them following the one I giffed, where they discussed the main plot of the show, which I’m not sure you want to be spoiled for? They’re both characters who’ve appeared in multiple scenes in each episode so far, especially the blonde, who’s helping the main character and is like third billed in the cast.

Not sure if I’d find it worth recommending, the first ep was actually pretty tightly focused and uncovered the mystery within the basic premise, which, as you probably know, the movie and show both share: because of climate change the world’s frozen over so a bunch of super rich people survive by boarding a luxury train that never stops, and there are some poor people in the last cars who are horribly treated. Things start to slow down in the second and third ep, which means we have to see the atrocities visited upon the poorer people in more depth. I do like a good mystery and I like genre fic but this is hitting uncomfortably close to home so I’ll see how long I can bear it.
