Hi, if Harley Show is supposed to be Harley’s, why did Kiteman come out with a better character development? Most people like Kiteman, and they despise Harley. :/

Oh, I would very much disagree with that! I think poor Ivy was badly done by, but like, Harley has only tried her best for this whole season?? Which is honestly part of my objection to the writing? It feels like they tried two arcs, Ivy’s difficulty in accepting a romantic relationship with Harley because she didn’t think she’d be able to withstand losing it, and then Harley’s…growing…from…what? She’s always been a bit messy but usually she just does whatever she can in the moment. She’s been exhibiting selfless-ass behavior for a while now, the pit, the bachelorette party, trying to save brainwashed Ivy at all costs and even volunteering to go the Phantom Zone with her, how was saving the wedding a bigger step? Like, what actually changed in her to convince Ivy she’s now trying? She’s been trying! 

Even the Parademons can’t only be blamed on her, it feels like everyone forgot, but she didn’t only get them as a distraction, Gordon was also coming after her because the president was pressuring him to for the sake of Gotham. No, if anything, I think the show’s actually a bit afraid to write Harley as making bigger mistakes, but as a consequence, to me, she’s come across as extremely likable and sympathetic. 

Maybe it helps that I don’t really see much of the comic nerdbro side of fandom, mostly just other people’s comments about them. I imagine it’d be much worse seeing it firsthand, but like, I don’t really think the show can be blamed for people’s own bias in focusing on men or like, you know, misogyny in general (ETA: even though, as I said in the previous ask, they should at least kind of factor it in). To me, KM was gross at the start, and then a nonentity when it became clear Ivy didn’t really care about him. My feelings about him in the finale were mostly resentment at how much time he was taking from other things but other than that, like I said, whether the choice came from him or Ivy, it was because of the same reason, she didn’t love him. I guess I don’t see it as that awesome when someone doesn’t marry a person who doesn’t love them.

Wait so did Ivy finally dump kite man and did she not go thru w the wedding? I’ve been waiting to watch Bc I don’t trust the writers lol. And for some reason kite man seems to be popular with ppl which makes no sense to me Bc he was a total dick in the ep I watched.

Well. Well! She– Hmm. Okay. Soooo…no? Heh. HE realized how much she didn’t want to marry him and dumped her and left. >_>

I’m of two minds about it, tbh, because on the one hand, yes, it is absolutely clear to everyone, including the audience, that Ivy loves Harley, so if he left because she didn’t love him or HE left because she didn’t love him, same difference. But on the other hand, there was a TON of him and there’s just BEEN so much of him, and exactly as you said, people seem to love him and I don’t know if the writers get that when it comes to female characters, it doesn’t even matter if they’re the leads, people will jump at any chance to center men. So even though I don’t think they like, sidelined Harley or Ivy for him, you gotta just expect a certain reaction and account for it. Aside from the actual plot point of it still being nice if Ivy made the decision.

But like, to be very precise in this, it’s not that the disappointment I have for this ep is deep, I’m just working through having any at all. I’m mostly venting because I think they could have just so easily made different and better choices, or ones I preferred, anyway. I wouldn’t at all dissuade people from watching, especially the whole show.

Thanks for giffing I May Destroy You! I finally got around to watching and I love it. Me and Michaela are from the same country so I’m beyond excited that she not just wrote and directed the work, but that she also gets to star! It’s like watching myself and all the little bits(poc– esp black women as mains and not just like waitress or tokens! headscarfs!!) they add make it that much better. For such heavy subject matter, it’s complex and lively and I think lots of people really needed that.

You’re welcome! I’m glad you’re liking it, I also was quite wary of the premise, but as you said, it’s being treated in such a way that even I, an emotional coward, don’t find it overwhelming or too dark (although of course major trigger warnings for rape/sexual assault for anyone considering watching it). And yeah, it’s got such a distinctive tone. Have you seen Chewing Gum? Which is also her own show, as opposed to The Aliens and Black Earth Rising, which are quite clearly other people’s.

I watch s19 but now catching up on Carina’s greys scenes and I’ve just watched the one where teddy gives birth. And when carina says she could masturbate teddy says ‘what?!’ But at the same time Owen says ‘no’. And I know it’s for comedic value but why does he get a say in what she does when she’s giving birth, she’s the one in pain and it’s her body. It just really annoyed me

I can imagine, anon. I haven’t really watched Grey’s past random skimming but what I’ve absorbed from the fandom is that Owen just really sucks. Everyone seems to have their own reason to hate him and every one of them is valid.

Wow that HQ episode! It was really sweet and Harley confessed her love like three times lol. I hope we get an Ivy confession for the finale – it’s her turn, IMO! Also, ty for giffing it and ty to the other anons for talking about it so much on here! :) I started watching b/c you guys got me so curious about it!

She diddd, it was just all Harley trying to save her girl while openly telling everyone she loved her. Harley does everything so…unabashedly. 🙂 But definitely waiting for Ivy to say it now! I mean, I get it’s the big culmination of the arc so they can’t reveal too much for fear of diluting the tension or give it away before the season finale, but we’re here now! I’m ready for it. And I’m glad you’re enjoying it! I’ll pass on the thanks to my friend for making me watch it. 😛

I know you’re just trying to help people, but a lot of the gofundme posts you reblog are scams. Or at the very least include several lies. I don’t have a great solution other than to only reblog from people you know (which may not be a great solution tbh) but i just wanted to make you aware if you weren’t already.

Hmm, could you be a bit more specific, anon? If you know people are lying, feel free to share. When you say “a lot”, do you mean more than one or like, the majority? I haven’t even reblogged that many…

I know you’re just trying to help me (and my followers) but I think I’ll risk it anyway. Other people have said it a lot better but if my choices are to give money to people who need it and accidentally also to scammers vs not giving to scammers and accidentally depriving people who need it, I’ll go with the former. If other people want to be safer, that’s their prerogative, I assume there’s already some skepticism and awareness when people approach any donation request, and if there isn’t, or people have overridden that recently because they feel guilted or pressured, then I’m sorry, I should be clearer, donate if you can.

Also, “scam” is kind of relative, considering this recent MFF mess and I’ve seen people who ask for donations that DO have well-known presences still being bothered about them, like, if they could afford a pet or a game or anything deemed a luxury, then they shouldn’t be asking for anything, and I don’t necessarily agree with that. And is it actually someone making lots of extra money with total falsehoods and impersonations or someone who’s a bit vague or remembering things incorrectly but not deliberately or padding their expenses a bit or exaggerating circumstances to make people actually donate? You know? Again, would rather risk just giving the money. And although I didn’t think of it as a method against scams, I’ve been donating small amounts to various different charities, so maybe that actually does mitigate it a bit. No major harm done.

Okay I’ll give a quick rundown of what she said about working with Danielle because the rest is too long and I don’t even go here: They ask her which of her relationships on the show she liked best, Arizona or Maya, she says that things with Maya were particularly intense, during the first table read the chemistry between them was so strong everybody fell silent for like 5 seconds, her and Danielle became friends immediately [1/2]

[2/2] she says “we loved each other from the beginning" But she uses the term for love that means more family and friends love so don’t get any ideas 😉 After that they ask if she’d consider being a main character full time on Station 19 and she goes “I don’t know what a gynaecologist would do in a fire station” but if they were to ask her she wouldn’t mind giving it a shot as long as she can keep doing what she loves. Haha, that’s a great point, I think people, including me, are always like, well, all the Grey’s doctors are over all the time on S19, why can’t she be permanent, totally forgetting she’s a gyno. But we’d love to have her, all the same. Just, like, decide to become a late in life firefighter like Warren.
