I’ve seen people speculating and it may still be something they go with, but at WORST, it’d be an attempt. They wouldn’t do all this to end Rana’s story in such a horrible way, they’re trying to tell a valuable story, of how it is for LGBT Muslims, and there is no way they’d show it ending badly. It’s a tough reality, but they’ll want to give hope to everyone out there.
Hey, so I’ve seen people comment before on tumblr about rana possibly trying to commit suicide, idk whether over kate or just things in general with family after her parents found out. Have you heard anything about this? Do you think the show will go through with it and end kana that way? I really hope not..

I’ve watched Corrie for many years now and I think when people get invested in ships on soaps such as this one, they forget that some of the writing is actually v clever. Apart from highlighting Yasmeen as an ally for Rana, I think the two episodes tonight were important in showing the parallels between the Connor family and the Nazir/Habeebs.
Ahhh, that’s a great point. Rana’s family’s signing her away like a business deal, Kate’s family is a ball of hugs and concern with them practically throwing a competition for who should have the honor of donating a kidney to Carla.

I want to think that the writers are throwing Sophie into scenes with Kate that are quite awkward on purpose? Like she doesn’t have a natural chemistry with her and it’s like they want it to be obvious that Kate is not into Sophie.
“Natural chemistry” is entirely subjective but the awkwardness in today’s scene was definitely on purpose. Sophie wasn’t even at the pub when Carla had her turn, there wasn’t any reason for her to show up at the hospital except for her to point out she’d caught on to Kate being distant and for Kate to lie to her about Carla being the only reason for it. At least for the moment, she’s still being kept at arm’s length.
