Vera asked about Joshua about as much as, or probably more than, Juliana asked about Lucho, LMAO

Lmaooo, that’s such a good observation. That gayly jealous oh so casual curiosity, sooooo, what’s up with…you know, that guy? Everything okay there? Still having a good time? Oh, no reason, just wondering. No, he’s greatttt, I just–no, I’m sure you’re having the BEST TIME, he seems like such an understanding and cool guy that totally gets you, mhmm-hmm.

Oh in the Dr RoJuls AU Vera and Val totally know each other from the party scene and Lucho and Juanpi travel in the same douche-circle but the sweet responsible Dr who just wants to make her parents proud and the most of the opportunity because she KNOWS her life could be very different doesn’t have time to frequent such places… until a very grateful Val invites her out

Oooh, that’d actually be a really good source of motivation behind RoJuls’s drive and need to excel. And Vera and Val both in the party circle works so well, and omg, Lucho and Juanpi would TOTALLY be douche bros. Both bitching about their girlfriends and thinking the other has it better and then Val and Ro meet and hit it off and they think it’s actually a good thing at first. >_> 

That actually sounds like a really fun AU, if someone wanted to explore all the fundamental differences that kind of background would give RoJuls, but the same inherent goodness and kindness and mom-friend maturity from growing up too fast.

In Chapter 6, when Vera asks Marcela if Joshua was her first boyfriend and Marce replies that she only used him to fuck, Vera’s expression changes before asking if she has fucked many men. I wonder if she felt any jealousy? Or maybe I’m being dumb and Vera was just genuinely interested in that…

Hmm, it does change quite visibly, but I think my first reading of it was that she was thinking about her own relationship with guys, which was pretty terrible (for understandable reasons).

It looks like she’s turning her thoughts inwards, you know? And especially since Marcela isn’t even talking about the depth of her feelings for Joshua, instead highlighting the physical aspect. While Vera seems to be thinking over how she doesn’t seem to enjoy the physical side at all.

But later on, when she asked about him in ep 7, “How’s it going with, what’s his name, Joshua?” I think then there might have been a little something. And then definitely in ep 10 at the hotel room when Carly tried to make her laugh about Joshua bringing Marcela to that room and instead just ended up making Vera really jealous. Also later on in the same ep when they were outside and Carly called him handsome and Vera was so irritated and immediately went no, mames.

Heyyyy. This is only half of it, 9 minutes out of the original 18. They didn’t do when they switched seats, or when Ines tried to “remember” who Tessa was and kept saying her sister’s name. But this is still better than nothing, thanks!

Parveen Kaur is gorgeous! It’s ridiculous! (and bless now we have her plays a wlw in manifest lol I was hoping that she would!)

She is! I confess, I wasn’t really taking much notice of her at first, she was added along with several other people to Saving Hope at a time when I was still focused on the established characters’ stories and then the big arc she got was at first terrible for her character, but by the end I really liked her. It was great to see her pop up on Manifest and even before the pronoun hiding with Alex or the explicit wlw story she was a compassionate, kickass character, solving those Callings with her medical skills.

I saw some people are scared that the current arc will lead to her death and I don’t know why, unless I missed some promo, but I’d be furious if so. Aside from being a wlw it’d be such a loss to the show, the one main character who isn’t a Stone and who uses science to such a degree. No way they’d punish her to this extent for looking at a different avenue…

Yoooo…. I went through your juliantina tag from the very beginning and let me just say that I’m so glad you were convinced to check them out. This fandom is so lucky to have you. Your gifsets are ?, your tags are funny and smart, you are so respectful to a culture that you’re not part of by learning the context of things, and your responses to the ‘top discourse’ are so funny. Keep on being awesome, dear. :)

Whoa, that’s a LOT of posts and a lot of reading. Lol, me being convinced to check them out. The start of it all. Can you imagine if I hadn’t? I might not have had Juliantina OR MarVera. But I’d like to think both would have popped up on my radar eventually.

And, aw, thank you so much! Wow, you really did read through them all, I’d half forgotten some of this stuff. The ole top discourse… I think we all know now who it’d be. >_> And  oh, yesterday (or a few hours ago) was the anniversary of the TVyNovelas awards! I still don’t know why they decided to actually allow the polls to decide the winners but I’ll always love that they did and let AAM carry home every award we wanted.

I can’t get over the bit in the last ep of desenfrenadas were it cuts from vera and marcela’s confrontation outside the club straight to that like soap opera on tv where the lady’s saying “I gave you my heart, and you crushed it,” like the blatant parallel… exquisite

Omg, right?? God, ep 10 was just so good, from start to end. I was so pleased when I realized what they were doing, Marcela and Vera’s argument and then you cut to this soapy melodramatic treatment of star-crossed lovers, reinforcing how MarVera are supposed to be seen similarly. So deliberate and effective.
