A book written by Fiona Shaw (not that one) set in a small British village in the ‘50s.
It’s the story of a young boy, Charlie, whose parents split up and he befriends the lovely new town doctor. His mom and the doctor are thrown together and well, feelings develop. But it being a small town, there are issues.
And now it’s being made into a movie with Anna Paquin as the doctor and Holliday Grainger as the mom.

It really does depend on what their intentions were. If they want to keep her locked up, there’s no escaping that. In Pakistan or anywhere else. If they took her to an urban area, that’d be like a city anywhere else, she’d have been able to flag down a taxi or rickshaw or simply ask to borrow someone’s phone while out shopping and eventually make contact with a consulate (and/or Kate).
It might be different if they took her out to a rural area, it’s difficult to get there or get away from there on any public transport and it wouldn’t be so easy to find a phone or internet with which to contact somebody.
I doubt they’d have tried to physically hold her prisoner, though, I think they would have tried to work on her mentally, guilt and lecture her into changing. I don’t think they’d have outed her, that would have brought shame on them too, aside from the physical danger it could have put her in.

I’m super cliche and use Calibiri, Bold Italic, anti-aliasing Strong. I’ve tried different fonts over the years, Arial, Candara, and Corbel all look good in Bold Italic for gifs, but this is the one I kept with after all the computer-switching and Photoshop-reinstalling.

Hey, anon. I’ve been…trying. I’m realizing that when Nas isn’t the center, I don’t care that much about it. Kaneez is brilliant, so is her actress, and I’m glad she’s getting more time, but frankly, I find the second wife plot kind of boring. Especially when it’s pushing Aaron into everything. And on the school side, no Nas means Alya’s is the loudest Muslim girl voice.
I don’t just want more Nas because of the gay stuff, I legit would be fine with a season of her and Missy just futzing around. She’s just more fun to watch and at least her melodrama feels more real to me.
