Aw poor Val. She just kept saying how she had never been in love how she didn’t believe in love. Hope all the drama and struggles about Juliana be over soon and Val can just be a happy baby angel blissfully in love.
Yeah, they’ve both been through the wringer. And there’ll be troubles ahead, really. Only at the end of the show, hopefully, will they finally get some peace. But you know, on the way, they’re getting their little happy moments here and there. After they were able to fake Lupe’s death and then until confessing to Guillle it was relatively mostly quite pleasant.
idk why but one of my fav juliantina moments is when they’re at the park and Val is tryna convince Juliana to let her buy Juls something nice to wear for guille’s party.. and val does her little puppy dog eyes and says please in that little voice and Juliana almost immediately gives in…. and then the lip bite jeeeeezzz …. ughhhh so softtttt
Yeah, that’s a great scene that highlights everything good about them. Juls is honest about her concerns and her limits as far as receiving things goes, and Val makes it clear to Juls that she has understood and acknowledged all that and is specifically working on Juls’s terms. It’s so important that they’re both hearing and thinking about what the other wants. Their friendship and relationship is basically about them trying to give each other everything it’s within their power to give and convincing them to accept it, lol.

There’s no such thing as seasons in Latin American telenovelas. At most, there might be a sequel but it’s only happened like a handful of times, at least in Mexico. Amar a Muerte has an 80-episode order and they already finished filming so it’s gonna be definitely over for good.

So Juliantina has shared 3 kisses and 1 almost kiss…. all initiated by Valentina. What is the significance that she’s the more forward one physically but the one having a harder time being in love with another woman?
Wait, I’d say Juls initiated the one in the car. But I get your point.
I think, as the other anon said, she’s definitely more instinctive, and when she’s with Juls, it’s really easy to just want to be with her. But she wouldn’t be the first person to find it difficult to reconcile feelings with everything else that comes along with them, for us. We don’t get to just deal with the problems of a budding romance, it comes with having to change our conceptions of ourselves and dealing with homophobia and the politics of it all.
Juls is so introspective and has so many other priorities, it may be easier for her to have given it a think and gone, hmm, okay, I see. Val, her family’s far more image- and status-conscious. Even if she herself isn’t as much, it’s going to mean a lot of things for them and her. And she’s so bad with keeping things in, how quickly did she go and tell Guille! And even the late night talk with Lucia about love. Whatever shift this means for her, it’ll have to come out, and it’s going to be super messy.

Thank you for all these gifs and text and tags about Juliana and Valentina! I haven’t had to chance to watch whole episodes yet, only the juliantina scenes, but would you or any of your followers have any insight into Valentina’s relationship with her sister? It seems to be pretty tumultuous (like when Val wants to go visit Juls while her stepmom is kidnapped) or Val’s ultra-reserved (like when she comes home and finds out Eva will be living with them for a while)?

I’d say it’s a bit fraught. They definitely do love each other, but Eva’s pretty overbearing, with both the younger siblings really.
Even though Eva is very much an older sister and they lost their mom young, she’s not a maternal figure to Val. Oddly enough, I would say one of the sources of tension between them is how easygoing Val is. She is totally fine with Lucia as their stepmom, for example, while Eva loathes her (while still having astronomical amounts of sexual tension with her). During Lucia’s kidnapping, Eva advocated much more for a wait and see approach while Val was all for helping Lucia as much as possible. And then, like you said, Val just wanted to go visit Juls but Eva forbid it for her safety. In recent times, with everything going on, including Val’s thing with Juls, Eva’s just gotten more demanding and stricter and Val’s not really looking forward to having that presence in the house with them.
