I started watching amar a muerte from the beginning after watching all the Juliantina scenes bc i was really intrigued by the story. So far one of the characters i’ve enjoyed watching (when she’s not with Johnny) is Lucia. I’m only on ep 12, but it’s really interesting to me all the flashbacks she has of Leon bc i think she really loved him but just everything else shows something different and i kinda just want to know more about that

Johnny is honestly the worst part of the show to me. Away from him, I actually like Lucia a lot. Angelique Boyer is great and also Lucia’s just plain interesting in how she interacts with the Carvajals. I think she did eventually grow to love Leon and a part of her just wants to be accepted by his kids, by any family, but Guille and Val are at least nice people too. Jacobo is obviously younger and ostensibly better looking than Leon but a lot of what attracts Lucia to him are the parts that remind her of Leon. If the scheme had been allowed to go on longer and she didn’t live in a telenovela, she’d probably have fully fallen in love with Leon and that would be that.

As with everything on that side of the story, her relationship with Val is particularly of interest. I’ve said before that the Juliantina parts kind of slow down the story and make it more real and that’s true there too. Both Val and Lucia loved Leon in a wistful kind of way, in the hopes of what could have been and now both miss him bitterly and have bonded over that in a way the others don’t really share.

My Mom said something to me that made me think and it reminded me of one of your asks about Juliantina. She said that they both went through the storm individually and when they met it was like in the middle or eye of the storm if you will, and it’s been their little calm space as the drama rages on around them until the storm has to come to an end but now instead of going through it alone they have each other, it’s just about how to go about it without all the extra debris coming at them.

I don’t know if I’m making sense, since it’s hard to translate it into English about what my Mom was saying.

Wow, you and your mom talk about Juliantina? So lucky, anon! You made perfect sense and it’s such a lovely meaningful way to look at them!

It’s really amazing how they’ve written them. A nice medium between Lucia/Jacobo’s craziness and Guille/Renata’s inanity. The problems they’re facing are big but they reveal a lot about each character. They both really were lost when they met and while things are getting tougher, hopefully they’ll be able to weather them together.

Im gonna be really honest right now: I don’t want a spin off, I’m pretty sure their story is gonna be concluded very well in AAM and whatever comes next is gonna ruim it. It’s a telenovela you know they are gonna try put in dramas like love triangles possible cheating all this stuff that are part of the novelas cliche fest. End it now that is good and meaningful instead of milking something and destroying it

And another anon:

to be honest I’m not sure I would want a juliantina spinoff since we don’t even know how their story ends in the show. and if it’s a happy satisfactory ending, then I don’t want a spin off potentially ruining it, you know?

And another anon who beat you guys out by sending this a couple of weeks ago:

Im gonna be real: I don’t want a second season or whatever. Juliantina story is way too good the way it is now, I see a second season as a possible way to screw it up. I mean their development is being done really well whatever they may come up with next is not gonna be this you know.

I mean, I can’t say I disagree with any of you. And yet, I’d totally watch, they have my heart, I would not deny more of them. I guess we just have to wait and see.

Claudia just said Valentina is 25 on her IG live

Same anon about Valentina’s age- I think Claudia was confused and thought someone was asking Maca’s age…. because 25???? Juls is only 18??

And a bunch of other anons:

When was it confirmed that Juliana was 18 and Vale in her twenties?

Am I right in saying that Juls is 18 and Val is 25/26? I’ve seen those numbers tossed out but idk if they’re correct.

Did they ever say how old Val is?

I’m confused. How old is Juliana and Valentina???

Pretty sure that Claudia (Eva’s actress) answering Val’s age as 25 is the source of all that you’re hearing. I…am not ready to believe that, lol, I’ll wait for confirmation.

Juliana has been confirmed as 18 in the show.

Do you believe that televisa and amar a muerte is overwhelmed about the audience response? Maca and barbara said something but also the network???

I mean, they’re releasing cut scenes, they have a Juliantina only section on their site, an increasing number of the post-ep summary cuts are about Juliantina, even in the eps when more important stories are happening, they’re releasing exclusive little clips with the actresses… I think they’ve definitely noticed the response, lol.
