Lol, or it could be that. I don’t think Juls is quite the kidnap veteran Lucia is, and hopefully never will be, but she’s definitely been through some things.
I know a lot of people have been saying that Juliana’s so emotionless in that call – but I saw it as similar to how she was in the phone call whilst Val was being held hostage. This girl is like devastated, not eating, crying in her room after she’s broken up with the girl she’s in love with because everyone is against them – but she wipes her tears and puts on a brave face for her morrita cause the only way she’ll be able to get through a conversation with her is by pretending she’s fine (1/2)
(2/3) My head canon is that she’s doing the same thing here – she’s left home after fighting with her mum, had sex that she completely regrets and feels guilty about, got kidnapped, was beaten up and bruised and sexually harassed, held at gun point then rescued by a random claiming he is her father as well as the man currently occupying her father’s body – is it any wonder she’s totally overwhelmed?
And the only person who makes her feel safe, that could make this whole situation any better at all is the one that she pushed away, that everyone wants to keep her away from. Let’s not forget that Juls doesn’t know that Val has been told anything about her and Sergio or that the last time she saw Val she was hugging Lucho. She’s scared! She’s terrified! She’s an absolute mess!
But also she really needs just to hear Val’s voice but she’s so used to discounting her own feelings and pushing them down because she feels like she’s less than all the people that she’s around that she won’t let herself be vulnerable in front of Val – not when she knows that she’s done something that could jeopardise their relationship completely and shes going to get heartbroken when it comes out. (that was a lot of words im sorry lol)
Ooh, you might have hit it, anon. She does have a history of hiding her problems from Val. Even if Val has explicitly said not to, I think she kind of feels she’s lost that right, with recent events between them. And like you said, she’s not going to put herself into that place of vulnerability now either, since things are more precarious than ever.
Like, no question, she seemed to take the kidnapping more in stride than Val did, but that’s also because there was always something else to focus on, her mom’s safety, who her father was, the transmigration revelation, then her mom being the one losing it at their reunion, then having to play the peacemaker between her parents. She’s always had to be the grownup and caretaker and she just naturally took that role on again when calling Val.
Emotionless is quite different from absurdly cheerful, which is what she was. We’ll just have to see if that was because the scene was to highlight Val’s grief, we didn’t even see Juls’s face, or if any other theory bears out.
I know Val had to tell Sergio about Lucho but his stupid ass wasn’t making it any easier. Val wasn’t crying for 2 whole seconds and then he’s all I’m so sad can’t believe I won’t see him and then Val starts on the verge of crying again and then Juls calls. Also Sergio didn’t look happy at all. I know he’s super upset about Lucho, however, if he wanted to be a good friend to Val (I don’t care if he blames her or not…) he had zero regard for any of that. And I’m PISSED.
DID she have to tell him? He can just go away forever. Imposing his grief on her when she’s feeling the guilt she is? Aside from everything else. I am so not a fan. It only marginally helps to understand that he too is just a plot device, a placeholder for whatever the writers need him to be in the moment.
so i started watching aam from the beginning but there’s just SO MANY EPISODES. can you tell me how eva and alacran met? I actually am invested in the other storylines but I don’t have enough time to watch that much television sadly.
I’m not actually sure, the first we see of them, they’re already together, it’s a bit of a surprise reveal when suddenly these two characters not only know each other but are making out. They’ve had both the affair and a business relationship going on for a while, she uses her position to shield him from the press and to help launder money through the Carvajal Group.
I wonder if we are gonna see Eva fiding out that Val was this )( close to get killed at the hands of alacran’s men. Maybe thats how her redemption starts.
Oh, that’s a good point. I don’t think that’ll happen first, though, I think everyone else will find out about her and get mad. Including Val, since it was Alacran’s men who killed Lucho. And kidnapped Juls. And Lupita earlier. And caused the mess with the Armenta cartel that led to her kidnapping and like, five of Lucia’s.
Because for Eva to find out and start her redemption arc, she should repudiate Alacran, but he’s about to die, so where would that fit in?
I don’t really see how Valentina wouldn’t be able to get over it. They were broken up, Valentina knows how much Juliana is struggling especially with the confrontation with her mom, Eva and the hospital fiasco. Not to mention El Chino and the cartel. Why wouldn’t Vale be able to get over it prior to any time jump?
I mean…that sounds fair. I guess we’re all thinking that’s just too easy? It’s the end of the story drama, it feels like it should be more prolonged than that. And while did you send this before Val found and was all, sometimes you just don’t know people to Renata, her reactions since seem to indicate she would be open to any explanation from Juls.

in telenovelas, it usually takes about one week or so, to reconcile after things like that, depending on how they play it out. if they go the “omg you are in danger i love you i cant lose you i dont care what happened before” and use the kidnapping, that would be legit. of course paired with the “i am so sorry, it was stupid, i love you so much, it’s only you i swear” or, they could do the whole “we are young, i am not safe here, i gotta move, i love you but” and then meet after time jump
That does seeeeem at the moment like where they could go. And the former! Hopefully not the latter. For like five seconds, I was like, yeah, maybe they do need a timeskip, but I’d forgotten everything they’re going to go through. I didn’t think Val was going to play such an active role in Juls’ kidnapping, gosh. It would be cruel to keep them apart.

Mhmm, you’re right about that. None of this is at all something Juls has been enjoying. What led to it, what happened, and the aftermath. And then being kidnapped and left to think about it immediately after.

Well, taking into account my 0% speculation accuracy, I would say…no? For no real reason, beyond the fact that they both have people and plots they have to deal with that should take at least a day? Juls with Beltran/Chino and the transmigration, Val with Lupe and the homophobia and Lucho’s death?
Look I think we can all agree that Lucho dying was actually nuts. But we’re talking about the Universe here. I try and think of it as a whole. People be switchin bodies to make soulmates happen. Lucho was being a tool, causing unnecessary heartbreak, and violent. Who knows on one hand. He could have gone on to be a horrible person. For the girls but can you imagine him being with someone else and not treating her like Valentina? Lucho is still Lucho. The Universe does what it does ya’ll.
I mean…he was good in this last ep, and in his final moments, but he’s mostly been deeply horrible. A twist of a writer’s pen doesn’t make everything about him good. He was whatever he needed to be for the plot, just something to push everything along.

This is actually the funny part, because he was written like how f/f characters usually are, with no other story or background beyond their interaction with one person. And that’s why we’re often so disposable to the story, because those characters offer nothing beyond that. AAM made their f/f characters so important they could literally be the reason behind the premise of the whole thing.

Going through last nights post it’s pretty much with the gays not knowing how to react/deal with Lucho being shot. We’re used to that type of character in between our wlw ships and we always wants them to go away but it never really happens until AAM. I get some didn’t quite grasp the way he dead but it’s a telenovela and they are all about DRAMATICS. This is how they treat their otp, we’ve actually had it not as bad as far as novelas goes even though it may feel like the angst are endless.
See what happens when the fandom says they wish lucho would just die and they actually end up shooting him very abruptly and now everyone is in shock also he didn’t even have a dying scene or a closing statement like he died really quick
Yeah, it was quick and super surprising and sad in the moment. Immediately jumping to protect the women.
But I think while there was some shock people came to terms with it pretty quickly, remembering most Lucho the rest of the time and what kind of show it is. And I would dare say that there might be some other wishing going on too.
as much as we like to act all WOW about valentina snapping, is not even close to surprising. at the bench, before they broke up valentina made a whole speech about “, i dont care i will fight anyone, whoever, i dont care as long as i get to be with you” and it shows. it shows she doesnt care about lucho’s feelings, or lupe’s. she thinks she lost the one thing she wanted, and there is nothing scarier that someone who has nothing to lose, that is why she seems lethal
Yep. It’s one thing to say that in the heat of the moment or in desperation but Val is walks the talk.
And tbh, it says so much about her when you look at when she chooses to fight. She didn’t even not care about Lucho’s feelings? He insulted her, he insulted Juls, she just stood up for them. And the one time she called out Lupe was when Lupe was dillydallying in saving Juls. She’s an ultra forgiving person, some would almost say too much so, the way she always forgives Lucho and Eva and are afraid she’ll forgive Juls too easily, but isn’t that what makes her her? She’s just that loving and kind. But yeah, this latest event has been an exercise in showing a Val on a rampage, and that’s been pretty cool to watch.
