These are actually great quality and have English subs if you know how to change the subtitle track on your viewers (most people should have VLC Player by default which allows it).

Thanks to you I’ve binged The Pier. Yay for being in Straya. Any idea if SBS or any other place will have season 2? It’s an amazing show

And another anon:

Do you know where i can watch the pier season 2 with subtitles?

I think SBS will have it at some point, they tend to put up full seasons of foreign shows and keep up with the whole series, but I think it can be some months later, depending on what deal they’ve worked out.

HBO Go in most places should have it. I think it hasn’t really proliferated in the, uh, other places just yet, but it’s just a matter of time.

Thank you so much for the book recs! Really appreciate it!! I’ll go check those out :D I’ve read Priory and loved it!! But have not read the rest :)

Good, good, hope you enjoy! Oh, and don’t look up too much info for Nevernight, don’t let yourself be spoiled too much for it. There’s a m/f romance for much of the first book in the trilogy, but like, considering I’m still adding it to the list…you know. Oh, and the romance was frankly pretty inconsequential in Foundryside but I liked the first book well enough, it’s a very intricately built fantasy world kind of like Mistborn. So like, if you read those magic-based fantasies but are like, ugh, now it’s time for the obligatory m/f romance, this would be a good one to try.

The last song for El Embarcadero was perfect, loved it!

It was so good! The use of music throughout, both instrumental and songs (and English songs too!), has been so good, but that music kicking in when they’re hugging Conrado goodbye, and then they’re hugging Katia and Ada goodbye, and we realize what the cuts throughout the ep meant and that they’ve reached this place and they are finally the family Sol wanted and Alex and Vero both needed. :’)

The way Grace told Dani she needed water in the jeep early on read as weird to me until I realized that of course her instinct, when she knows she won’t be able to function much longer, is to ask Dani to take care of her.

Oh, that’s so true. And she was right to rely on her, even at this stage. Not just that Dani would care enough about her to not abandon her but that she’d be able to take control in the pharmacy. Like, meeting Grace and saving her and being saved by her was the making of Dani, just as Grace in turn was so influenced by her. This was literally the story of two women trying to upend time for each other.
