Can we talk about how out of all the Carvajals who saw shit on this show Val has seen the most! Like, homophobia, held hostage, saw her dad get stabbed, abusive bf, gfs mom is kidnapped, gf is kidnapped, ex bf gets shot in front of her, brother goes to jail, stepmom gets shot and dies in her transmigrated dads arms am I missing anything? This poor girl is freakin’ traumatized! Can we do something for her please!

She already got a lifetime of Juliana Valdes, what more can we do for her!

Although, god, every Carvajal has gone through some stuff, huh, if you list it out like that. Seen their dad killed, Eva saw Alacran killed, Guille participated in a robbery where somebody else was killed. Lucia! But yeah, Val was such a major trouble magnet throughout. I hope the next few years of the show was just nonstop therapy for everyone.

I’ve been thinking that the reason barbarena have been so kind to us (and the rest of the cast) is because it was a telenovela and aired shorter than a regular drawn out tv show and theyre finally getting to enjoy the burst of acknowledgement close to after the show being done which they didn’t get while filming. i don’t even know if that made sense, I just woke up lol.

Oh, I see what you mean, and that’s a good point. I wonder if, had it been longer and the show had a chance to see how big it was going to get while still filming, if maybe that would have affected things, like an extension/renewal or modifying the plot. Even if was written to be a closed story, networks aren’t necessarily known for their artistic integrity.

But anyway, I think no matter how or when they experienced this response they would be grateful for it and return it. I think we and they all realize this was something special and nobody expected it to be like this. And part of it is because of them, their acknowledgment and gratitude feeding ours in turn. It’s all just really nice, since nobody expected it to be this big and I’m sure some of the actors in the side roles didn’t think they’d be caught up in this too and be getting their awards and fan appreciation the way they did. 🙂

Hey! Thank you for answering all our asks :) just wanna ask if there is a s2 for aam, angelique wont be in it?

No problem, buddy.

I mean, of course nothing is certain, if on the very off chance there is one, maybe she will be after all, if Lucia has transmigrated, that could mean her body is housing somebody new, or she could pop in for some Alexis Ayala type cameos but most likely is that there won’t be any season 2 at all and even if there is, she won’t be in it.

For the other shows being upset that they had better numbers they are wrong! On Univision they stated how aam was the only show that was growing by each ep and even have 4.1m on the 2 hr finale. It was there #1 show and beat out everyone. As for aam being on Netflix it could still be that it was on univision and they have a few shows on there and that Univision is part of w studio aam could go to Netflix

Yeah, as Claudia also pointed out, it’s not as if this is some tiny show that ended up surprising people, it was huge and popular anyway. Although, if they’re going to decide awards by online voting, it actually could legitimately have been a tiny show and still had an enthusiastic enough fanbase to win. It’s not like these fandom polls are won by GOT or TWD, they’re won by niche little shows.

I don’t really know anything about how the Netflix/Televisa/Univision thing all works, I guess there’s just no harm in trying anyway.

maybe im just dumb but i didn’t realize what was happening with the whole aristemo thing. they literally got their own spinoff show? also their original show got renewed before that. and AAM best both for all awards. im not even going for a juliantina spinoff i just want a second season with them in it. a lot of shows on the network have been renewed lately/in past years. i do get that the show wouldn’t be the same without angelique tho. maybe someone else transmigrated into her body? idk…

Yes, the Aristemo ship started exploding last year and their show was extended and they got their spinoff. Their fandom is much more local to Mexico, so I think Juliantina’s very recent popularity, and much of it international, wasn’t as apparent to people who didn’t think they could compare to MMTF in size or reach.

I think it’s going to be a spinoff or nothing, even without Angelique, I don’t think the parts are in play for a season 2. Even though they seemed to set it up, with Lucia’s implied transmigration and Jacobo still alive to look for her and not knowing what happened to Leon’s body or Beltran. A lot of loose ends but so many people have commented on there not being a season 2 so that’s that.

what happened to the aam cast? you said something about claudia was taking it like a champ?

Oh, they’ve just had to continue to face scrutiny for the awards.

For example, Raquel Garza, who played Barbara, the #1 Juliantina shipper, had to face this tweet from a radio host (who incidentally interviewed Barb and Maca some weeks back and was nice to them) the very actual night of the awards. She saw it and responded in a super classy way but imagine not even getting a day to enjoy it without people saying you didn’t deserve it.

Like others have, Maxine specifically also brought up Patricio Wills, founder of W Studios (that made AAM) and recently appointed president of Televisa and she essentially claimed that these awards were him rewarding his company. This was a particularly tenacious rumor and Claudia was asked about it personally.

At around 4:40, the interviewer brings up Wills and questions the credibility of the awards now, can it be a coincidence that his company received so many awards, how does Claudia think that’ll affect the popularity of the awards.

Claudia: Look, I think the awards have always been inside the company, and they always award Televisa’s projects, right? That’s what happened in this case. I repeat, I saw Juliantina fans being very active, it’s a phenomenon even now that the telenovela has ended, every day there are so many tweets they send, and I believe…what happened is that they played a major part in us winning so many awards, it was their support.

Interviewer: Don’t you think there was some sort of corruption?

Claudia: I don’t see why. At the end of the day the telenovela did great in Univision, it did great here, and that’s it.  If the voting had only been in Mexico maybe we would’t have had the same results, but they opened the voting to all countries, a lot of people from Spain voted, and Angelique, what can I say? She has a lot of fans from 15 years, she has a long career and she always wins her awards. Just saying.
