Hmm, like, way later on? Definitely not that next day, lol, but that’s a good question, in the context of “how much of her considerable trauma does she share?”
Val is often super forthcoming, right, “I’m still grieving for my dad”, “I wasn’t sure I’d make it out of the hostage situation”, “I’m scared of people finding out”, “I feel like since my dad died I haven’t had a moment’s peace”, in the moment she can be so amazingly honest. But at the same time, she often shuts that down and doesn’t share as much with Juls as she might. During both the kidnapping and bullying aftermath, when Juls was calling and clearly ready to offer comfort, Val chose to wait rather than subject Juls to her immediately really unhappy reactions.
I think, way in the future, she might toss it out in some offhand way, something about how meeting Juls literally saved her life, she’d almost died literally the day before she saw her again in the park and Juls would be like qué and it’d all come out.
