Oh it’s not like that this time, they really broke up (and maca and Ghassan too) in a previous ask you kinda implied that the fandom would hate any guy dating maca or barbara which it’s kinda not true, we liked ghassan, Gonzalo it’s really a islamophobic, toxic macho man (sorry if this ask comes out aggressive xD I don’t mean it like that)

Well, there you go, previous anon. 

And heh, I do remember seeing that comparison pointed out a few times, but I think a large part of Ghassan’s appeal was how excellently he was Not Gonzalo. And I think anyone who was as in your face as Gonzalo, no matter the rest of his behavior, would have irritated at least part of the fandom.

I keep seeing so many people celebrating the fact that Gonzalo and Barbara broke up and I’m genuinely confused. Why does everyone hate him? I don’t really ship them but I feel kinda bad about it, especially since they were together for almost 7 years.

Okay, you asked this in late July and tbh, I wasn’t really on top of what was going on. Haven’t they been off/on for a long time and was this not more of the same?

As for why people dislike him…while I doubt any man in his position was going to be popular with the fandom, people don’t like his politics or that when fans say admittedly dumb things on social media, he seems to make sure Barb sees it? 

At this point, I wish people would just ignore him. Which, I guess they do, I haven’t seen any recent drama, heh.

1. I saw Juliantina is getting a movie and a series!!!!! I haven’t watched Amar a Muerte yet, but I’m always happy when other f/f fandoms get treated right. 2. Which brings me to my next point. Juliantina/AaM have been on my long list of things to watch, so where can I watch it? Tia

Thank you! This experience has already been so remarkable but this movie and series on the back of its f/f couple is just unprecedented. Especially when apparently the m/m spinoff of the other recent telenovela had started airing a little before, to low ratings? So you’d have almost understood if they decided to not go for a f/f project.

Was Juliana a loner when she lived in Texas? There was never any mention of having friends or anything.

I reckon so, living like they did and as you said, at no point was she ever like, I want to talk to my Texas friends or at least tell them I’m okay. It seemed a lonely, isolated life for our Juls. And then, tbh, despite their very endearing and earnest efforts at it, she and Val seemed to have not much idea how to handle friendship, jumping into a very intimate and deep relationship like immediately.

Ah, anon, super sorry for this late reply. I keep on saying that I’m going to be late on everything so just accept a general apology for all replies and requests but…sorry.

Just to kind of explain, right as Ramadan was ending, at the beginning of June, I was hit with this headache + nausea combo that just flattened me. It was constant, it was waking me up from sleep, I just lay in bed. As the days would go by, I would think I was getting better, and that’s when you’d see an occasional post or gifset, and then a day later it’d be worse again. I thought I was good the weekend Dark came out and then on that Monday it hit again, as worse as ever.

I’ve fallen behind on everything, although when the headache wasn’t too bad I was able to get some reading done. I’m still not fully back but finally easing back into work and going to try to answer some asks and get back into the rhythm of watching things more regularly and preparing for some of my fave shows to return.

THE NEWS. The news. I was super excited! I followed it all from my phone. A movie AND a series! Ngl, if had been just a movie, I’d have been like, all right, okay, at least we get two more hours of them, this isn’t a goodbye yet, it’ll be mostly about them so it’ll be as much content as a bunch of episodes, and the plot can’t be too messy, right, there’s less chance to ruin them. Buuut, their best parts have always been in their quiet, long moments, and that’s not really something I see a movie able to give them, so I’m super glad we get a series for that. The movie can be for the fun and flirty banter and the series can have the nice long angst with the payoffs. 

Oh, and none of you better be writing in cheaty/deathy ideas for the movie! For five seconds I forgot the world in which they live so I was like, at least they can’t kill them off but y’all better not be writing them transmigrating! 😛
