i really like Lucia, she is not the usual telenovela stepmom, she begins like the usual ones being a golddigger and all BUT she really cares about the Carvajal’s (Eva not so much cause Eva doesnt like her), she really cares for Val and it’s shown many times how gentle and sweet she is with her, she cares about Guille as well, she is even nice and respectful with Chivis, with Alerio. Most novela’s stepmoms mistreat everyone and act fake, she doesnt.

It helps that she’s more the lead, if anything, but yeah, I really like her too. 

I hope she doesn’t die, she’s a great character and if given the chance, a great person too. In all the ways you listed, she’s shown to be kind and respectful to other people. She didn’t just get what was hers and then turn on people, she’s still always nice to them. She’s only met Juls the once but greeted her politely and offered to get her a ride. 

She definitely doesn’t fit into any one slot, scheming black widow or stepmom or victim, she’s just trying to play the hand life dealt her. And I think Angelique Boyer plays her with a lot of depth, a lot of warmth balancing with the hardness from her old life.

I’m feeling let down with the reactions to tonight’s episode, it was good, obvs they couldn’t do more because of time, but this episode was good. Maca and Barbara played so well with the expressions, everything was too much for them, like val said it was just too intense. The only thing I was not feeling was Sergio and clearly juls was sharing the sentiment since she immediately pulled Val’s to the side? It was a fun moment. I love how they use the hand holding as metaphor for their love.

Aw, don’t let other people get you down, anon. One good ep and everything’ll be back to the usual. Remember how it was…last week? Lol, it feels like a lifetime ago, but the fandom’d taken the biggest hit it could and then bounced back with not much problem.

Personally, I’m also coming around. I think we played out all the possibilities from the promo so much that what actually happened ended up being anticlimactic. But you know what I described earlier for what I thought should happen? Them really hashing things out? That’s not really them either, is it. When I think about it, would I want them to be yelling or sobbing at each other? Especially in light of what they’ve just gone through? They didn’t focus on the hurt but instead on what happened and where they can go from there. That’s actually a good way to handle things, if they feel they can move past it without resentment.

Also, they looked super hot and super gay.

So the spoiler photo with the caption ‘Juliantina reunion’ might be accurate. Friends before the time jumps… then “hey, do you wanna grab coffee sometime?” after 2-3 yrs of time jump. ?

I dunno, this week makes me think it’s more likely that they’ll get back together before the time jump.

The thing that none of you are seeing is that telenovelas are hell and as much as I see them trying to be better we still live in a very misogynistic society. What Sergio did is not seen as bad by the majority of people in Latin America. There’s even music about it, you can listen to Maluma’s ‘Borró cassette’ as an example. So what I’m trying to say: the story is never going to address it because they don’t see anything bad with Sergio’s actions, for them in was Juliana the one that screwed up.

Yeah, sadly, that does seem to be the case. The writers not even realizing what they’ve written him as. But that still doesn’t mean they have to still include him in all these scenes! Well, the one scene. But one scene too many!

It’s not mediocre and really is that far fetched that after all the bullshit they’ve been through, they dont want angst/pain anymore? That if their relationship is where they can have some peace and quiet, they will take it. With the ever there certainty that they are still very important to each other, Juls regrets it and all is talked out, but muted because everything ELSE hurts and they dont trust to let it free, it might just crash and burn for the wrong reasons. Is like hibernating of sort

That’s a very fair point. They may simply not want to hash all that out or even be in the place to do so. If anything, a quiet talk about where they are now might be the most “them” thing.

Honestly I found the reactions after every episode was aired very entertaining. Like, I shared their sentiments but it is just so entertaining watching everyone reacts.

I know the spoilers show death being in Val room what if she’s there to get her back to Juliana to go to Barbara house to know about Leon. I also wonder when death shows up if it’s bc someone is going to die and she’s warning Val that Leon/Jacobo is going to die.

I remember there originally being theories that Val might OD, but now, Death is freaking everywhere, so it could not be related to that or even Juliana. I think Val’s going to go digging into things, Leon and/or Lucho related, and Death might haunt her. As @dealanexmachina pointed out, she’s seen her dad die, in the hostage situation she saw that one bodyguard and Servando die, now Lucho. All in front of her. If anyone has an unlikely affinity with Death, it’s her.

But lol, imagine Death being (again) responsible for Juliantina happening. I’d love that.

Despite everything, I think that Juliana was clever in asking for them to not stop seeing each other when Val asked for time. She’s aware of her screw up but she knows what she feels and she’s not ready to let go even if she’s shite at feelings lol she made sure she could be there and Val let her. The door is still open.

Lol, it was. She’s just honest about it, right? She just wants to be in Val’s orbit. God, from the start, she’s been so…one foot in. I love her, and I say this with love, but Juls has been downright skittish. Ironically, this weird friend area is probably what she’s best at handling. She’s scared of being all in, she might not even know what that means. I don’t think she’s at all two-faced or inconsistent, I think in her strongest moments (with Val), she really does think, let’s keep the pact, if you’re in, I’m in, this is just for us, I’m in love with you. Those are all true. Juls is definitely in love with Val as much as a person can be in love. And yet, how can one maintain the actions and life that comes with that when they’re so inexperienced, when every second away from Val emphasizes how wrong they are together–and in fact, many seconds WITH Val also do the same. 

If they had the luxury of not being kidnapped all the time and not having to face homophobia, she’d be able to grow into this relationship like a normal teen does, but it’s…been a hell of a couple of weeks. 

In her mind, she really did have a one-off thing with Sergio, she didn’t like it, it proved her mom wrong, it settled any doubts she had, now she is in a better place regarding her feelings for Val. Meanwhile, Val is of course understandably freaked and hurt. To go off and do that…oh, Juls.

Hey, you have been really good with answering asks and giving your perspectives. Just want to let my thoughts out. I understand the decision of the break up. It might be needed even though I expect more reaction from either Juls or Val on it. However, I overestimate the writers in sidelining Sergio. I mean that’s the most awkward and unnecessary hug. They didn’t even address how Sergio manipulated Juls and then have him back in the story just like that gaining sympathy from both? Idk. ?

Oh, man, that, I don’t get. Why is he there? Why is he like, crying about it and being the one to get sympathy when Val saw Lucho die and Juls was kidnapped and just released? I don’t get what purpose the writers have for him. 

Lol, I just saw the hug again and had to laugh for five minutes. The music’s playing like it’s supposed to be all emotional but it is the most awkward thing I’ve ever seen. And really unnecessary, given what he is to them. 

I’ve given up understanding how the show sees its men, but yeah, he’s served his purpose, can he just go?
