i think it hasnt downed on people yet how HUGE it is that magnum chose Juliantina for a commercial in the prime time of the second to last episode of the most watched novela in Mexico a super traditional country. I mean they didnt choose Lucia and Jacobo they chose the GAYS. in Mexico in Mexico

I’m actually still only beginning to absorb the enormity of it myself, as well. I made a joke about it but…yeah, like, I was literally talking yesterday to a friend about how, as much as they flash Juliantina all over their social media and online presence, TV has been a different matter. But this was a TV commercial! And yes, during a penultimate episode of a super popular telenovela. There’s no way the viewers will see them and not think, oh, it’s the lesbian couple.

Magnum’s thought process?? This couple is so popular, we’re going to treat them the way other companies treat A list celebrities and mega sports stars.

The whole soulmate thing makes so much sense for Juliantina Bc their chemistry is so great. You can see that they’re soulmates Bc everything is so easy with them. It’s so easy for them to pick up where they’ve left off, even after hurt and betrayal. They can’t help but be gentle with each other’s hearts, even when they’re angry. I can’t even deal with it tbh. It figures that all my otps are couples that have insane chemistry. It really helps along the plots and covers any weaknesses in writing.

You’re not wrong. I know some people might have wanted certain things to have happened before they got together, more processing, making up, apologizing, but then when it happened, the way it happened, I think most couldn’t help but be charmed anyway. Their chemistry is just off the charts bonkers. If you can just look at each other and not have to say anything and convey that much, yeah, you can get away with a lot.

I love how differently Val and Juls flirt. Like Val is so cheesy and dumb and romantic “you were my Prince Charming” “you look so pretty when you’re right” and Juliana is like sultry teasing and making eyes at Val

Lol, “cheesy and dumb”. 

But it works every time because Juls is ridiculously in love with her dork.

The cutest thing is, Val does it deliberately to lighten the mood and get a laugh from her girl.

Juls, though, Juls is so much reluctant to put herself out there. She does it when she’s super confident. Say…after their first time?

Or after saying she needed space, Val being the one to come to her and tell her she didn’t mean it, demonstrating so clearly that she’s actually still so into her. 

And her purpose is different, as is the end result, Val is so affected in a totally different way, lol. In those moments, the cute thing is that while Juls is definitely not looking to lighten the mood–rather the opposite–they enjoy the banter and flirting so much there’s still this joy that shines through.

I mean I need to say this to somebody. We get that val and juls were meant to be in every some sort of universe ’cause la muerte said so BUT what about maca and barbs. they’re just friends i know I get that and it’s great, amazing really. but those two excellent actors did a movie together and they never met before even in the same fucking project just to come “juntas” in amar a-fucking-muerte and make fireworks with chemistry and fandom-greatness. i’m just oh my god my heart

Aw, anon, it’s so nice to read about someone feeling so positively moved. 🙂 It really was serendipitous, they’re such a good pair on every level, they match aesthetically, they’re so physically comfortable with each other, they balance the high energy of Val and the restraint of Juls, they work through even improvised lines and make everything so natural. 

And as another anon mentioned, it was pretty much by accident, Maca breaking her leg and having to bow out of another project, Barbara auditioning for another character. It just worked out like this.

Hi, hope you’re having a great day. Juliantina have stirred me and finally got me to get a photoshop subscription and learn how to GIF. Your GIFs are so good and I’m struggling but I like it lol. Was wondering what font you use coz I can’t find one that I find satisfactory and the one you use looks so good.

Wow, a Photoshop subscription?? Anon, you’re not playing. Juliantina really are like that. And thank you! My gifs are whatever but definitely improved from where I started, practice helps loads.

I just remembered I have a giffing stuff tag where I answered some questions including this one, so I’ll just paste that here:

I’m super cliche and use Calibiri, Bold Italic, anti-aliasing set to Strong. I’ve tried different fonts over the years, Arial, Candara, and Corbel all look good in Bold Italic for gifs, but this is the one I kept with after all the computer-switching and Photoshop-reinstalling.

You’ll want to play around with effects like Stroke and Drop Shadow so that it isn’t just a single color that could blend in with the background.
